They say that the greatest achievement that we can hope to accomplish is the mastery of our minds. But what does that even mean? Does it mean that we understand the workings of our minds and by extension, everyone else’s minds perfectly well? Does it mean that we obtain complete control of the processes in our minds? If that’s the case then it sounds we have already achieved that through another form because that basically describes computers. They have clear and clinical understanding of every operation that they perform however small it may be. This is because they rely solely on logic, no matter how complicated; they eventually break down into streams of binary digits, performing basic arithmetic operations. The difference between mankind and his creation is emotion. The incalculable emotions that drive mankind to accomplish feats that pure logic would never dare to do is something that will always be the clinching factor that separates man from machine.
This is where we come into play. The Psych Club comprises of a group of individuals who are in the relentless pursuit of understanding what makes us human. We seek to understand the beautifully controlled bomb that is the human mind and exactly what makes it tick.
